This is the most popular shopping district found in the old city. Its charm is not only due to the high, narrow houses tightly nestled together, the enticing shops and the wrought iron guild signs, but also to the romantic passageways and courtyards.Recommended for:

Full of hustling, bustling tourists, this is probably one of the most expensive streets in all of Europe. Tonnes of designer boutiques, high end stores. Thankfully it's not too long a road, so when you're hauling 10+ bags filled with clothes and knickknacks that you'll stuff into that extra, empty checked bag you paid an arm and a leg to bring with, you can simply hail a cab to whisk you back to where you're staying and then proceed to enjoy a beer.Recommended for:

the main touristic place in Salzburg. Today a pedestrian shopping street - in roman times it was a major road. Crowded by 1000 of tourists, but really worth seeing.
