If you are a fan of chocolate then this is your heaven. They have massive amounts of chocolates and a huge variety. I really like how they give you some samples! But my favorite part is the restaurant where you can order all types of deserts with Ghirardelli chocolate incorporated in them. Get the chocolate sunday- best ive ever had

If you like chocolate, Ghirardelli is another acronym for chocolate heaven! If you're looking for the chocolate factory, this is the place for you! One part chocolate shop and one part ice cream shop, Ghirardelli will certainly satisfy your sweet tooth one way or another. Lots of chocolate varieties to choose from and numerous ice cream choices from the menu. The ice cream sundays are huge, which makes coming in groups the smart thing to do or to share one with your loved one on a romantic night. The ice cream is a bit too soft for my preference, but the sheer amount and variety of toppings makes up for it. While enjoying your sweets, look around the shop to see he various machines that make the famous chocolate that is enjoyed worldwide. SWEET SWEET SWEET!!!

Nice walk to/from the bay; there's food and small shops here, including the famous Ghirardelli Chocolate shop and ice cream shop. When you're done, walk along the water; there's places to sit and a museum as well.

Ghirardelli Square is a tourist destination that's really hard not to love. While the place is populated mostly by visitors, new local-friendly businesses are opening inside. With the transition of the factory to condos, we can expect this to increase. The Ghirardelli store is crowded and the ice cream often has a line out the door. It's a fun experience if you're visiting, but you'll most likely find your time (and caloric allowance) are better spent elsewhere.
It only takes one look at this iconic San Francisco building at night, with the Ghirardelli sign in full illumination, to fall in love with the Square all over again.

Sometimes a tourist trap is there for a reason. The history alone is great, but the square is now home to cute shops and restaurants. A lovely way to spend a few hours!

There are a lot of shops and restaurants at Ghirardelli Square, but the one thing not to be missed by tourists who want a real San Francisco treat is a sweet treat from the chocolate/ice cream shop.Recommended for:Family Travelers
