Best gelato in Rome! I don't even like pistachio normally as a flavor because in the States, it's very artificial, however at Giolitti, the pistachio flavor is nutty and fantastic. Get it and you won't be disappointed. All the flavors are great here. I also got the tiramisu which was delicious. If you must have gelato, try it here. Apparently ...

I haven't had an espresso at every coffee shop in Rome, but it's hard to believe there is better than Sant Eustachio (but I'm open-minded to suggestions). Our guide at Walks of Italy pointed me in the direction of this one and I was impressed.

    Obikà Mozzarella Bar

0.15 mi from Gigli d' Oro suite

A very stylish place in the center of Rome, very close to the Piazza Navona. Try different types of Mozarelle (for example, a smoked one) and have a nice glass of wine. I can totally recommend a visit.

    Grom - Piazza Navona

0.24 mi from Gigli d' Oro suite

Oh my God, this gelato is AMAZING!!! On my most recent trip to Italy, I went to Grom about 6 different times and tried all sorts of different flavors. By far the best are the Vanilla (SO creamy and flavorful), the Coffee (tastes like creamy frozen espresso), and the Coconut (with dark chocolate chips). Oh man, I'm drooling just writing ...

    Gelateria della Palma

0.17 mi from Gigli d' Oro suite

One entrance is an onslaught of chocolate (impression upon first sight: Ooh!) and the other opens up to one of the largest displays of gelato I've ever seen (impression upon first sight: Oooooooh!). The chocolate section alone is impressive. This is probably one of my top picks for recommendations (but know that it's also a little pricier). They have all ...

This restaurant is hard to find as it is located on a small side street that cars cannot get down. But the effort to find the restaurant is rewarded by fine dining in an elegant formal setting.

Trendy place in a lovely piazza. The primi are good, the kitchen is open. I think that at least 2-3 euro of each dish's price is a trendy tax, however. The food's good, but not to-morire-for.

One of the best places to get coffee in Rome. Italian coffee is usually not sitting and hanging out in the cafe. Drink it at the bar quickly and move out! :) Interior at this cafe is quite charming. Located in the heart of Rome, in front of the Senato della Repubblica palace, it is just a few steps away ...

Il Gelato di San Crispino - Centro Storico

0.19 mi from Gigli d' Oro suite

Okay, you are used to seeing the gelato shops with overflowing colors and flavors - which may look enticing but I assure you those where they are covered are where you'll find the best gelato! San Crispino has the most incredible flavors. Small servings compared to the heaps you get at other places, but the taste is incredible!

Friends Cafe is a lively bar. The crowd is younger (students and 30's). Outside in the square there are local vendors set up so you can shop and then drink! I would recommend heading over there for a fun night out.

Excellent trattoria. Great food, wonderful wines, but it was the most expensive restaurant of our trip by far. Having said that we still went back for a second visit on our last evening.

This is a classic trattoria near the Pantheon with traditional menu featuring seasonal ingredients—being seasonal is very traditional. There are usually a lot of tourists but locals as well. Service is efficient and the wine list offers a good selection. You can book online.

I decided to dine at a touristy restaurant along Piazza Navona just so I could sit beside Piazza Navona like they do in the movies. Aside from the price, I was pleasantly surprised with the experience. The waiter, somewhat absentminded, messed up my order twice. He quickly fixed it and apologized. The food was tasty and the views are amazing. ...

When we came, it was almost 3PM, which is when their kitchen closes, so be sure to come by earlier! Da Francesco offers great pizza and pasta - classic Italian fare. It's like pizza in panino form. You order a pizza bianca (white pizza) and they fill it with a number of stuffings. I had their house pizza, and it was filled with artichoke, smoked cheese, ham and "fish sauce," which was some creamy, delicious concoction. The price was only 3,50 euros and it was more than enough to fill me ...

Mimi e Coco is a little wine bar tucked behind Piazza Novona. It's not the most inexpensive place in Rome, but for being RIGHT in the middle of the tourist track it's not absurd. They've got a lovely wine list with all kinds of offerings (Italian and otherwise), with great small plates (my favorite is baked potatoes, cherry tomatoes and ...
