Make no mistake, the pyramids and the Oberio here are fantastic. That said, Giza itself is a mess -- dirty and filled with touts. You need to watch your back a bit but, for the most part, the annoyances here are harmless humans and traffic.Recommended for:

The plain of Giza is a dump, almost literally. Sitting about the city of Cairo and protected from urban sprawl, trash collects at the base of the hill. Although the pictures show the pyramids and the Sphinx, zoom out a little to see crass commerce encroaching on this protected area. It's maybe 100 steps from the Sphinx to a bucket of chicken from KFC.
