Boutique hotel with a lovely bar and restaurant downstairs. Queer friendly this hotel also hosts sex-positive and LGBT events.

Love the character, charm and that the staff are always on hand to offer a smile, a helping hand or share some stories about the area...

Toronto's hipster art hotel. Every room done by a different artist. Great bars and wonderful weekend brunches. Art shows, always fun. Just down the street from the Drake Hotel on Queen Street West.

The individually decorated rooms are unique and inspiring. The restaurant is also delicious. The neighborhood is very "hip" and full of shopping, nightlife and food.

Another Toronto hotel doubling as a social hub, the Gladestone is located in the far west side of Queen West, one block away from the Drake Hotel. The similarities continue! The Gladstone is a very stylish place, with tons of exposed brick/hardwood floors and counters/beautiful glass, 4 art galleries, great lighting, two green roofs, incredibly designed rooms (EACH room has been designed by a different artist!) and an amazing caged elevator that I had the pleasure of riding TWO times - this hotel is, for me anyways, the most originally and stylishly decorated one in the city. They also host a ton of interesting visual art shows/food events/music, have a great cafe, and art all over the place!

I loved the Gladstone and would encourage anyone looking for something original and interesting to check it out!!

The Gladstone is a funky and casual, "art hotel" in Toronto's West End. With events happening nearly every night, ranging from talks by local artists to magazine launches to film screenings, the Gladstone is a magnet for hip locals and makes for a great place to spend a few nights away from the stiffness and suits of the downtown core. Each room was designed by a different artist/designer, and range in theme from Canadiana nature decor, to a red-light district purple velvet boudoir to 1920s art deco inspiration. The rooms are smallish but impeccable, and every single detail has obviously been considered for its impact on the whole. Pragmatic extras such as limo service downtown during morning rush hour, complimentary gym passes and free Wi-fi make your stay all the more comfortable. Friday night karaoke in the lounge - a Toronto tradition, drawing old crooners and young partiers alike - is a must.

This is the west side event space of the city. Day or nite there is something going on. Food in the day and live events in the nite. If you're in the hood take the time to check it out.
