The Glebe is the quiet achiever in downtown Queenstown. From the outside you'd never know the bounty of goodness that resides inside. Looking more like a same-same three star, once you see the rooms that idea gets blown out of the water. With a variety of rooming options available a good range of budgets are catered for. The lower level apartments are solid entries with strong amenities and a comfortable feel. Head upstairs and the standards skyrocket. The Penthouse suites are top shelf and have everything you'd expect from this price bracket. In room cinema, a rooftop patio that overlooks Queenstown complete with spa pool and plenty of space for the whole family. Individual owners for each apartment means that they all have their own flavour and thankfully good taste is a common trait amongst them. The staff is friendly and the central location is tough to beat. Though not carrying the notoriety of many of the other top-drawer accommodation options - this one definitely exceeds expectations.

Despite it's unattractive sounding name, this was actually a rather delightful apartment set just high enough above town to provide you with an escape from the buzz of town, and a beautiful view out over the lake and mountains, but not too much of a walk (there are some serious hills in Queenstown!). The apartments themselves are well appointed with everything you might need, pretty well maintained and each one is quite individual which I loved (sterile cookie-cutter type places are so not for me). I was amazed at the sheer range of options available here, catering for everyone with one bedroom apartments through to extravagant penthouse apartments big enough to sleep eight people (many including spa baths on private decks!). I thought it would be a perfect spot for families, especially given the two enclosed, sunny and communal courtyards where the kids can safely run around while parents relax around the BBQ – pretty unusual for an apartment block!Recommended for:Family Travelers
