Help Ramona Flume with their trip plan: Going to Florence
My mother is going to Florence in a few days and is looking for an interesting walking tour of the city.... ideally a mix of history and culture, but she loves off-the-beaten-path destinations. does anyone have any recommendations of local guides or operators? Thanks!

You can't miss this outdoor gallery in Florence. You can grab some food and sit among these magnificent statues while you people watch.
I feel kind of silly recommending this place, since it's one of the most talked-about attractions in Florence. You can't miss it.
If you like Italian leather goods, this place is a good stop. You can probably find cheaper in Italy, but the stuff here is really nice. There's also a clean restroom in the back!
Another obvious stop in Florence. This is a breathtaking square.
Hey R! Have her get in touch with Alexandra Korey and say I sent you. She runs a great blog called arttrav (http://www.arttrav.com/) - she writes guides you can follow yourself AND I'm sure would know the right people, or maybe set up a tour herself.
Check Context Travel tours to see if there's something there she'd like. We've tried many of them and have found them consistently excellent.
