Hotel Shangri-La Santa Monica1301 Ocean Avenue, Santa Monica, CA 90401
Beautifully renovated, w/ a great location. This hotel has a great rooftop, pool, and restaurant. If you don't stay here its worth visiting just for the pool or rooftop bar.

This locals spot on Montana boasts the best burger in LA. Be prepared to get the burger "as is" because no substitutions are allowed, but believe me, you don't need to change their masterpiece. They ... read more

Came here with the in-laws... they wanted to see the ocean and the ferris wheel AT NIGHT... so that's fine... it's COLD as heck at night. It's pretty... the ferris wheel lights and the carnival ... read more
look... great photo op... but this is really for tourists. I recommend coming during the day... wear comfy shoes because you're on wooden ground... wooden UNEVEN ground. The games are a rip off... Am I negative about this place... yes. Yes I am. It's a tourist spot that is overpriced on food and games. This is great for a photo op and leave. PARKING: Park in the parking garage near 3rd Street and walk down. Not worth parking on the pier... too many people and it'll take you forever to get out.
Just a tourist thing to do

On a beautiful day... this is the perfect place to walk around and shop. The food places are a little pricey but there are some shops that are cheap to eat. Parking: Lot - free for 2 hrs or others ... read more
flat rate for $5 on weekends There are TONS of coffee shops. Win. Street Performers are cool to watch. Harvey Levin's People's Court was here shooting. That was cool to see him. Farmer's Market on Sat mornings. It gets busy on weekends. Happy Hour places to drink and eat! Lots of stores! The only problem I have it the overcrowded amount of people and that's normal for a nice place like Third Street, but still... it's annoying when you're driving and you have straddlers walking across the street. Ugh!

Seriously great burgers here, cooked to perfection exactly the way you order them. I was prepared for this bar to be completely over-hyped, but nope. It really does make awesome food, and the list of ... read more
microbrews from around California, North America, Europe and beyond is killer. What's not to love? A side of brussel sprouts that costs $8. Yup, it's overpriced. But the staff were really quick, and sitting at the bar while flying solo, I felt right at home. TIPS: * Order at the bar, then grab a booth or table (show up early on weekends, or you'll be hanging around forever). * Bring cash.

checked on us exactly when he needed to and left us alone at the right time; their side staff was also phenomenal, too. For appetizers, we had these wonderful wood roasted peppers and a plate of some of the lightest gnocchi I have ever eaten. My bf got the hangar steak which was cooked perfectly, and I had a perfectly seasoned Spanish sea bass (head, tail, everything was left on but the bones were never a problem). Even though we had problems getting reservations, we actually arrived about an hour early and didn't have to wait for a table - though for a Tuesday night, it was pretty packed. Can't wait to come back here!

shrimp was under cooked. I suppose I could have mentioned it to the wait staff, but, I just wasn't in the mood for that sort of conversation. My nephew enjoyed his coconut-crusted fish dish, and the service was helpful. Next time I'll try a fish dish, rather than the seafood. If all goes well I'll add another star to the review.
