I'll be taking the bus from Curitiba to Rio in early February, stopping in São Paulo for 2 nights. I've already lined up a bunch of things to do in Curitiba and Rio, São Paulo, on the other hand, is a bit of a mystery to me. The main sights to see, where to sample the best local food? I'll be staying in the Vila Mariana section of town, if that helps. Thanks.
On the way from Rio to Sao Paolo. Go to Visconde de Maua. It is paradise on earth... waterfalls, lush tropical feel, fresh foods and peaceful feeling.
also in Curitiba you can visit Museu Oscar Niemeyer. It's wonderfull!!
And Jardim Botânico - its very nice to take pics and walk around. See on http://www.curitiba-parana.net/parques/jardim-botanico.htm
To eat you can go to Santa Felicidade neighborhood there you can fins great restaurants and de most big of Brazil called Madalosso Restaurant. Its has 4600 seats and is very famous. Also you can enjoy a tipical barbecue house there's hundreds. Request a statement at the hotel/hostel you will be. :) enjoy!!!
Spend one morning at the Ipiranga Museum, birthplace of Brazilan independence. Spend the afternoon and the night Around Paulista/Jardins region. Go to the city center on the other morning, and enjoy as much as you can there. Eat at the Mercado Municipal and don't miss the Mosteiro de São Bento. Then come back with 2 more days another time..
