So you want a very casual option for AYCE MBBQ. Well this place is nicer than going to the mall, but its not beverly hills either. This is MBBQ afterall and if you havent ever had it, well get off your azz and get over here.
MBBQ is a special concoction that is very different than what you are thinking (if your an MBBQ virgie). You go through a buffet style line with meats, veggies, herbs, and sauces adding only what you want in what proportions that you wish! You then hand over your bowl(s) to the chef who has a big round cooking top and he grills your grub up before your eyes as he walks around in circles. The grill is about 3' in diameter.
Pro Tip: Do not overstuff your bowl (i know you do it like I do, but this is ayce). Just take a bowl for meat and one for veggies =)
So not only do you get the AYCE but they have soup, eggrolls, wontons, wonton wrappers, and my personal favorite the fresh hot bread pocket stuff. The eggrolls sucked, the soup my friend said was so so, the wontons and wonton wrappers got inhaled and the bread pockets were heaven with sesame seeds!
My grub turned out super tasty, went through twice. The bad thing is that they didnt have a very large selection of veggies, but they had the primary choices.
Parking was a breeze and access is super easy as they are on the corner of Colorado and Rosemead. I will say that I had to flag down their staff for more water a couple of times, but they were johnny on the spot with the bread!
Basically a cheap place for AYCE and it shows. But if you like MBBQ, its worth hitting up. Much better than the mall places like gengis khan but not top of the line either.
