Gondola Service

1 San Marco, Venice, VE 30124, Italy
56 reviews

The main tourist experience of the city. It's iconic! But it is also expensive, 100 Euro for 30 minutes.

I first visited this bar with some friends when we were 15. We were good kids so they didn't mind serving us their famous bellini. Delicious.

Outstanding food and warmest service. This little restaurant has the freshest seafood ingredients cooked to perfection. İ had the tastiest mussels i ever had in my life. The only minus is the atmosphere. İt is in a small street with indoor seating only. There are a few tables thus reservation is recommended. Go for the food not for the view.

On my most recent visit to Venice, we spent almost every night sitting at Gran Caffè Quadri, sipping delicious wine or bellinis and enjoying the fresh olives, nuts, and chips. The caprese salad is also a delight.

    Trattoria alla Rivetta

    0.1 mi from Gondola Service
    3 reviews

Traditional Venetian snack bar, with a very old school feel to it. Definitely try the gamberetti and the white beans. Also the red wine ombras (or small wine glasses) are what they call "amabile" here, or pleasant. Atmosphere is lovely, and if you're lucky you'll hear the Venetian dialect being spoken among the local regulars.

    Rosso Pomodoro

    0.13 mi from Gondola Service
    3 reviews

It's quick and simple food but it's done extremely well. I came back several times while in Venice, I couldn't get enough of the tender homemade pasta. Though it almost feels kind of like fast-food pasta, it's extremely good. The location was also central to the Hotel Londra Palace where I was staying, which was nice.

I have just been for the wine and oysters on Wednesday nights where they have live music. They have a great jazzy singer. The menu has great selections too which are Venetian but with a modern twist.

This snack bar has a rich history, to say the least. It was a brothel once upon a time, but not just any brothel. It was the only one in its time, in all of Venice, which also served food and snacks! Today it maintains its antique appearance, and has a wide selection of grappa made locally in Treviso. Very ...

    Hard Rock Cafe Venice

    0.2 mi from Gondola Service

Hard Rock Cafés are pretty much everywhere and the one in Venice is no different. This one is located near Piazza San Marco and after having gelato, we decided to grab some drinks at the Hard Rock and enjoy the afternoon. Service was great and the server even split out checks accordingly. You can even watch some gondolas go by ...

My friend and I had dinner here on our first night in Venice back in 2008. It was our second trip - winter this time. Falciani is located right in San Marco, just to the right of the clocktower. We shared a bottle of Prosecco and I had this delicious pasta with mushrooms. Good stuff.

Five star for the location and view. The food offering was quite ordinary, but the view and the opportunity to relax over coffee IN a beautiful museum amidst the frescos, five stars it gets. This museum cafe does not seem to get much traffic as is the museum itself but that is my little secret nook in Venice away from ...

Bacaro Risorto invites you in with its pleasant music and buzzing atmosphere. But once you try the food you are hooked. A must-try are little open-faced sandwiches with gorgonzola, walnuts and cream of vinegar. Also the fried mozzarella with anchovies or prosciutto and the polpete (meatballs) carne e formaggio.

Strolling down the main drag of Lido, you feel immediately drawn in by a wafting scent of wisteria, then you see that the whole restaurant is covered in a canopy of it. Very romantic. Excellent food and service.

    Acqua e Mais

    0.11 mi from Gondola Service

The best fried calamari and frutti di mare in town. The name comes from the main ingredients of their polenta: water and flour. Order a "cartoccio di gamberi e calamari." Light and delicious. Also try the chiccheti: sarde in saor, baccalà mantecato, insalata d'orzo, verdure e gamberi, and the artichokes. Simply divine!

Cafes line St. Mark's square and one evening, Gayle, Erin, Jim, and I decided to sit down at Caffe' Lavena and listen to a small combo play a selection of classical and pop hits.
