Now that I'm a "big kid", I can't help but spoil myself at least once during my Disney trip with a character meal. Came here for their brunch and had myself a blast. Every few minutes, there's a new character roaming around the premises. And more than likely, they will stop by your table to chat and take pictures. I'm pretty sure it happened to me at least 10 times while I was there, but it was worth it. Don't forget to grab yourself a Mickey waffle or two. Or three...

Goofy's kitchen is located at the Disneyland Hotel, e.g. just a few minutes from the condo and the great part is that for this character breakfast you don't need a park ticket. So on one of your non-Disney days, you can still start off your day with some Disney magic! The breakfast is buffet style with pretty decent food and a fairly extensive selection, including a great omelet station for the adults and you gotta love the Mickey pancakes and Goofy's peanut butter and jelly pizza! Great service and, of course, the highlight are the various Disney characters that come to your table and engage with the guests. Be sure to bring your camera and autograph book! The breakfast is definitely not cheap (about $30 per adult and $15 for the little ones), but the kids are going to love it! You should definitely make reservations - they take them as early as 60 days out and if you have an annual passport you get a 10-15% discount.

WARNING- if you just want to have breakfast and be left alone this isn't the place for you. if your hungover and tired you better avoid this place at all costs. if you just woke up and don't want to talk to anyone please look elsewhere.
luckily we had breakfast passes for the brunch included in our disneyland package. it seems it's close to $40 per person for goofy's kitchen so a free brunch is a good brunch. these days it's hard to find a really good brunch so i wasn't expecting to taste fireworks. the good old days of a really great buffet seem to be over.
as we arrived we checked in and were called pretty much right away to be seated. before we were seated we were taken to get a photo with pluto. damn i just woke up and look like crap. we were seated in a pretty quiet section even though there was a good size crowd overall for 8am. right off the bat we were asked if we wanted any juice or coffee. i went with oj and a full pint was poured for me. wow! a full 16 ounces of orange juice would cost a fortune in any other breakfast place. it tasted like really good quality juice to me. we then grabbed headed to the buffet to see what i was going to stuff myself with.
where do i start? so many brunch stations to choose from. i grabbed my fiestaware plate and scouted out my game plan. there was just so much to choose from. i started out slow and went with an egg white scramble with tomato, spinach and mushroom. they had a fantastic marinated roasted chicken i just couldn't get enough of. i had about 5 pieces in all. i tried as much as i could so here's some other things they had to offer and yes i tried it all.
peanut butter pizza
bacon and sausages
mickey mouse pancakes and waffles
creme brulee bread pudding
biscuits and gravy
mini bagels and rolls
mac and cheese fruit
soft serve yogurt
and so much more
i literally stuffed myself silly with this brunch and it was all pretty good with a great selection for everyone. the service was great as well with constant refills on drinks and plates being removed immediately once finished.
throughout the meal you can see all of your favorite disney character roaming around greeting everyone. sitting by the exit i was able to see all of them come and go so i was ready for what was coming. well i'm not a big morning person and i should expect this but each and every character came over and greeted us. luckily most of them don't talk so eventually they just move on. but if you happen to see alice in wonderland, cinderella or any of the other human character you better run or be ready for them. many of the disney princesses are pretty darn hot so it was nice but like i said they will talk to you so be ready. alice came over and went on and on and asked if i had her french toast. she had the worst fake english accent it was disturbing. just let me eat here girl! i can see this is so much fun for kids but i was pretty much over it. i wish i shaved, showered and made myself look good for these disney ladies!
at one point during the meal a woman came over with our picture we took and asked if we wanted to buy the package. it included the 8x10 photo we took along with smaller sized prints for $32. no thanks! i brought my camera and i got all the free pictures of the characters i need for free.
you can really go to town with this buffet and get your money's worth but why would you want to. remember to save room for a long day of walking and rides t disneyland. try to avoid the long nap or food coma at all costs! either way whatever you do it's so worth it.
