The Grace Hotel lobby seems like something a little out of Mad Men, with a kind of bygone classiness and polish that's immediately appealing. The building is a heritage site and it shows, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff are immediately noticed and appreciated. The rooms were nice, with little touches of character like coffee-table books and a print of Klimtz's "The Kiss", but the gym and pool areas were of a fairly low standard for the Sydney CBD. The on-site 3rd-party restaurant was also generally good if unexceptional, and this is the essential story on the Grace -- pretty building, lots of character, fine rooms, good CBD location, but nothing to blow your socks off.

This hotel and even the street on which it sits screams ‘Art-Deco heritage’. Walk into the lobby and you feel transported to the heart of 1930s New York. The Grace has a colourful history and stylish décor, which in itself makes for a unique inner-city experience. The hotel also has a discount arrangement with a number of local businesses and services, which is great if you need a proper pampering. However, old-world charm and modern amenities don’t come without a price, as wi-fi is charged at $11 per hour and parking $45 per day. Luckily other amenities such as the gym, sauna, jacuzzi and 12th floor roof terrace are included in the price of your accommodation. With almost 400 bedrooms, and the hotel’s one brasserie and small lap pool, I can't help but feel The Grace may need more than just its Art-Deco glory to match other high-end hotels.Recommended for:History Buffs

Love the name of the hotel! Great location in the city and it's a close walk to Darling Harbour. The rooms are nice and clean. We had free breakfast buffet that came with the room, so you might want to call the hotel to see if breakfast buffet is included with the room. Great service and staff! If you want to be close to shopping and Darling Harbour than this is the hotel for you!
