The Grafton Capital Hotel is not really on Grafton Street but it’s only a two minute walk away so we’ll let them off with the name. The location is actually fantastic for a hotel at this end of the price spectrum – it’s the nicer part of the city centre near all the high-end shops and South William Street, just across the road, is probably the trendiest street in town. The hotel itself is pleasantly old-fashioned and the bedrooms are not small by city centre standards. There’s no restaurant in the hotel but given the number of places to eat nearby that should never be a problem. The clientele seem to be mostly middle-aged tourists but, given the price point and location, it’s a great spot for younger travellers too.Recommended for:

The Grafton Capital Hotel offers solid service for the price and can serve as a fine stepping-off point for a short visit to Dublin. It’s smaller than many of the budget hotels in the center of town—75 rooms—so you don’t feel too much like you’re lost in a crowd. The room I was in was a bit worse for wear, but I like to think that it was more very well used than run-down (an important distinction). Breakfast is served in a Mexican-themed restaurant next door, Break for the Border, which is connected to the hotel via the 1st-floor lounge. At the time of writing, the restaurant was only open for dinner a few nights a week, but the hotel staff have informal arrangements with other nearby restaurants whereby you can have food delivered. It’s not really room service per se, but it’s a nice thing that you wouldn’t expect from most placesRecommended for:
