When it comes to options for hotel accommodations choice is always a good thing and the Grandbell Hotel in Shibuya has plenty of that. The hotel features a wide range of rooms for both single travelers and groups. The interior is brightly lit and seems to have more of an artistic flare to it compared to other hotels.
The rooms for couples also seemed like the ideal type of place for a romantic getaway. There are also quite a few places in the area to shopping and most notably there is a large twelve story music store that has basically every type of musical instrument imaginable.
The staff are also extremely pleasant and friendly which made the hotel seem a bit more friendly and personable rather than stiff and formal as many hotels often are.Recommended for:

This hotel is right in Shibuya, so it's easy to find and you don't have to worry about catching the last train back to your hotel. It also has some affordable rooms that are small and chic, so it's a great mid-range place to stay. Some of the rooms, like the more expensive one with a view of the city from the bath, are a little run-down, I think because the hotel is totally booked a lot, but they're still stylish. Some of the most expensive rooms have spiraling staircases and decks with views of the city. The hallways are dark and display original artwork. Try to make a reservation at least a week in advance, especially for the little reasonably priced rooms. I like the people at the front-desk. They're polite, but not uptight. There are cables for Internet in the rooms, but no wifi. The wifi is in the little lobby and possibly in the restaurant and bar on the first floor.Recommended for:

The GranBell is a great find. The rates at this property are extraordinarily reasonable and the property is one of the only examples I have ever seen of a high quality Japanese boutique property (Claska is another):
Best things about the GranBell:
- great value (low room rate, inclusive of breakfast and internet)
- convenient location in Shibuya
- large rooms for the price point (at least if you choose a double room)
- stylish and efficiently decorated rooms
- rain shower
The biggest potential issue at this property is that it does double as a love hotel. This isn't really obvious to foreigners but Japanese guests would be able tell. I chose the property becuase of it's high rating on Tablet Hotels and it's excellent price point. Due to the dual role of the property, I'd be very hesitant to stay here if I needed to conduct business at the hotel itself.
My double room was better than what I have experienced at the Cerulean Tower next door. The beds are long enough to accommodate foreigners and the property has avoided the injection molded bathrooms that are common in Japanese business hotels.
This is a three star property so be aware that service levels are lower than a larger property (i.e., no bell boys) and the property lacks a business center and gym. The on site cafe and restaurants are decent.
The included breakfast is quite good.Recommended for:

This hotel is located five minutes from Shibuya station. So, it's a fashionable area to stay in.
They have different room choices. The cheap ones are a really good deal. They're little, but you probably just need a bed and bath.
Also they have a cafe and that turns to bar at night time. It's a nice bar, but if you want you can go find other bars in Shibuya.
I would think this hotel is perfect for most people. For sight seeing or business it's a good deal, and all most people need in a hotel. The lobby is little, but the sleek design and good price makes up for it.Recommended for:
This property offers multilingual staff, laundry facilities, Wi-Fi in the lounge, and a LAN cable in the rooms. Breakfast comes with the room.
Beds come with premium bedding. Bathrooms feature separate bathtubs. They also offer complimentary toiletries and hair dryers. Flat-panel televisions have DVD players.
The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare requires all international visitors to submit their passport number and nationality when registering at any lodging facility (inns, hotels, motels, etc.). Additionally, lodging proprietors are required to photocopy passports for all registering guests and keep the photocopy on file.
