I remember how I felt the first few seconds I saw the Grand Canyon.
It takes your breath away. No amount of photos can do this scenery justice. It's stunningly beautiful and there's lots to learn. The only downfall might be its distance from "civilization" and the fact that it becomes a giant hole after you stare at it too long.
There are tours that transport you here from Vegas, while stopping through Native American reservations for cultural activities and meals. That sounds like it could be fun, so definitely check it out if you're in Vegas and are thinking of a trip to the Grand Canyon National Park.

The Canyon offers a slice through geologic time, a look at more recent human history, and fabulous hiking. Look up and you'll see a California Condor. Look down and feel the power of the Colorado River. I think the best way to experience it is on a rafting trip. A trip I took changed my life forever, opening my eyes to the heart of nature and the West.

I think the GC is one of the most beautiful natural landscape I've ever seen. It is wide, enourmous, stilland calm, like a big giant that is taking some rest. Early in the morning it is something incredible. You stand there, waiting for the sun to change its colours starting a new day. I will never forget the sensation of peace and wonder I felt in that moment.
