If you’re going to DC soon, stay here. This beautiful hotel in a great location is undergoing a $23 million renovation, so rooms that go for $339 in the height of Cherry Blossom season are going for $99 a night now! So what if they hammer and saw from 9 to 5? Won’t you be out at a museum anyway? Besides their fab fitness center, they also have a pool, sauna and steam room, plus masseuses and personal trainers!

The Cure is their upscale restaurant, but they also have a sports bar with games and dancing, a Starbucks and deli. You never have to go out, but if you want to anyway, access to the Metro is right in the building. You’re also steps from the convention center and a couple blocks from Ford’s theater. Right across the street is Capital City Brewing Company; it’s big, bright and noisy – I love going here and I don’t even like beer.

Rooms aren't bad. Bar is ok. I gave it a higher rating because of location. It's near Reagan International Airport, it's got a great view of Capitol Hill, it's around the corner from Johnny Halfshell, and it's only a few miles' walk to the National Mall. They have automated machines for self-checkout...perfect for when you're trying to get out at 6 in the morning and there's only one front desk attendant and a long wait in line.
