In 2011 Reader's Digest named Grand Manan as the third best small island in the world. Sitting at the mouth of the Bay of Fundy the island is known as the Queen of the Fundy Isles or the Bermuda of the Maritimes. Home to the highest tides in the world! This island is a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of busy city life and fill your lungs with fresh clean sea air. A naturalists paradise, visitors come to Grand Manan for bird watching and whale watching. Rare right whales (one-third of the world's population) summer in the bay nearby. It is also known for the abundance of wild flowers and hiking trails. Sea kayaking is also popular. A 90 minute ferry ride from Black's Harbour, NB
I'm lucky to have spent almost every summer on the island and have relatives there. The most scenic spot on earth.
