We were big fans of the Grand Mayan. Great service from everyone we encountered, our kids loved the wave pool and lazy river, kids club services were a nice option when we wanted some adult time. Many options for food on the property but the food was just Ok and overpriced. Otherwise, we loved it.

Our extended family gathers here at the Grand Mayan in Neuvo Vallarta every two years and has done so since December, 2007, when we first became acquainted with the resort. Three of our five children's families and six of our nine grand children, the oldest of which is nine and the youngest is almost four, have spent a week in their own one bedroom unit during their stays. Now, all we hear from the grand children is "when are we going to Mexico?" and "we can't wait to go to Mexico".
What can we say about the Grand Mayan? Each family has its own unit. The units include a kitchen, a bedroom and bath area, a living room, a large deck with a plunge pool outside the Master Bedroom sliding door and two TVs.
The property offers a Lazy River that the grand children love to float with each other, their parents and grand parents, a variety of swimming pools, a water slide, two wave pools and plenty of beach. The ocean is perfect for our youngsters and their parents alike, and there is a Kiddies Club for activities. Baby sitters are available. Restaurants are on the property and off premises. The guys play golf, when permission is granted by their spouses.
In essence, the Grand Mayan has lived up to our expectations every year. It has become a source of real enjoyment for everyone, and we hope it remains so as our grand children grow and become young teenagers.
For full disclosure, we are timeshare owners at the Grand Luxxe Residence Club, which has Sister Resort relationships with the Grand Mayan. Also, note the resort is owned and operated by one of Mexico's premier resort developers and operators. The company's timeshare sales team is known for its very aggressive style, a fact that visitors need to know, understand and be straight forward if they choose to attend a sale meeting.
