Large gorgeous building that hosts a variety of different exhibitions, everything from circus to video, photography, paintings and historical artifacts. I went for the Bill Viola retrospective which was absolutely amazing considering I had never heard of him before.
Check the website for upcoming exhibits.

The mystery of this building is in the back where the Grand Palais has a science museum. I went in for a special exhibit that was in English but most of the exhibts are only in French and swamped with kids. On the front side there doesn't appear to be all that much to see here, all I was able to find was a cafe on the balcony, but it appears that they hold large banquets here for special events.

The architecture of the building itself is spectacular, and the Grand Palais plays host to some amazing exhibitions.

The Grand Palais is the home of the greatest exhibitions in Paris - always make sure to check the exhibition plan when you visit and make sure to get there early because the real good ones have at least a 4-hour waiting line outside. The Grand Palais has received Monet, Picasso, Warhol and so many others. Apart from the exhibitions, its architecture is stunning as well. The mixture of the classic building with the glass dome is breathtaking.

Avenue Winston Churchill. The enormous glass domes of the Grand Palais. It is exceptional; you feel tiny but happy.

Beautiful building made for the World Fair. It has since been home to some of the most famous exhibitions in Paris.

Description

Though entrenched in a plethora of cultural and worldly icons and landmarks, the Grand Palais in Paris stands alone in it's magnificence. Located on the famed Champs-Elysees, the building's construction began in 1897 in preparation for the Universal Exposition of 1900. truly a Parisian icon. Today, the palace remains as it was dedicated a "monument dedicated by the Republic to the glory of French art." There's little wonder why the Grand Palais remains a truly breathtaking work of French imagination.
