Wow, I can definitely get spoiled staying at a very high-end resort like Grand Wailea. I am definitely spoiled crashing in my friends' room there. The resort is beautiful!!! The staffs are friendly, greeting and checking in on the guests, really good customer service. The landscape, flowers, sculptures, and layout are a work of art. The beach is beautiful, but so are the many white sandy beaches all along South Maui. Some are more of a hidden gem and requires a short drive and hike to get to. Sunsets are truly amazing as well, I got to witness 3 of the 4 sunsets during my stay here and it always amazes me that I am in Hawaii!Recommended for:

A Waldorf Astoria brand hotel, part of the Hilton Family of Hotels. It was as luxurious as we hoped with a high level of customer service.
Our room had an amazing, 9th floor ocean view. The King bed was very comfortable as well as the couch (with a pull out bed) in the room. Each room appeared to have a patio, too. We enjoyed sitting outside and watching the sunset.
The hotel is located in Kihei, about 30 minutes from the Kahului airport, right along the beach and is great as a romantic getaway or for families. Check out the pools or stroll along the walking paths in and around the hotel property. A small shopping center is also walking distance from the hotel. I recommend renting a car as many sites of interest on the island are not close-by.Recommended for:

For kids, the Grand Wailea is pretty epic. They have more than 9 pools, starting at 40 feet above ground and ending at sea level, connected by a river that moves fast in some places and slow in others, plus tons of water slides, fountains, etc. For adults, the rooms are amazing and there is lots of good spots for relaxation.Recommended for:

This place is pricey but it has friendly staff, and lots of things to do. There's a spa, adult pool area, and a pool area with fun water slides, rapids, and a lazy river. The landscaping is pretty great too. There is beach access from the hotel/pool area as well. It works for families and for people looking for a luxurious, relaxing get away.Recommended for:

The Grand Wailea hotel in Maui, like several of the other luxury hotels on the beautiful "Valley Isle," is absolutely world-class in accommodations, services and location. Nothing is spared to make sure you and yours have the vacation of a lifetime at this pricey yet exceptionally high quality place to stay. Visitors here can expect comfortable rooms with amazing views, beautiful sandy beaches, warm tropical waters, and a number of attractions accessible through tour providers that can be contacted through your hotel concierge. The grounds at the Wailea are nothing short of "Grand" completing a package that just might amount to be the best hotel in Hawaii.Recommended for:

If you're going to pick a full-on resort hotel on Maui, then this South Maui property on beautiful, golden-sand and swimmable Wailea Beach is a beauty. Regular hotel rooms can seem a bit small, but the location is ideal.Recommended for:

I am not sure if you have booked your hotel/your price range but you mentioned kid friendly activities. I stayed at this hotel when I was younger and with my family and LOVED it. I was occupied by the pool all day, which is really like a mini water park. It includes a water elevator, a lazy river, countless slides, a rapid pool, a swinging rope, volleyball and much more. Not to mention, the hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous.Recommended for:

If you want pool action for kids nothing beats this place. Great slides and a water elevator to go back on top. Highly recommend booking a cabana on the poolside in advance. Beach side access is better at fairmont because of beachfront suites.Recommended for:

The Grand Wailea is not your typical Hilton property. This is part of the Waldorf Astoria collection, and the grounds are most on par with other top resorts. The pools are great for kids and families, and there is plenty of on-site shopping and dining. if you need more of either, just walk across the street.

Family fun hotel for everyone. Gigantic pool yet you are a hop, skip, and jump from the beach. Lie in a hamack overlooking the beach with a margarita in your hand! Hotel also has a full service spa. Got the best full body deep tissue massage there. Also great for weddings as there is a chapel in grounds.Recommended for:

Amazing place to stay. Everything you need is right at your finger tips. Excellent staff and great service. Restaurants on site are great. The beach is great and it is a large place with many people but you feel like you are the only people there. The Spa is by far the best I have ever been to. Even the shampoo in the rooms is amazing. My wife still buys it from them as well as lotions. I would recommend for anyone. I went on a honeymoon and it was perfect but they have plenty of things for the family. Worth the money.Recommended for:

What resort consistently supports its local community by offering hope? On Maui, the Grand Wailea Resort & Spa opens its beautiful grounds, brings out its cheerful staff, and serves up delicious food to support events for the local fight on cancer. As a member of Maui's Mana'Olana "Pink Paddlers" Outrigger Canoe Club (open to all who visit), the Grand lives up to her name, ratings, and reputation for ohana. Suzanne

The Resort is a beautiful property. The spa here is divine, and the pool is like a mini waterpark. The rooms, while very nice, are not spectacular, but the cost of the hotel is a reflection of the amazing grounds, world class spa and pool. Every time I visit Maui I go at least once to the spa for the terme'. It is so relaxing to spend a day in multiple baths, steams and getting a loofah scrub.
