Just happened to be in town for the annual blues festival this weekend. Lots of fun! They had a street festival with food, drinks and souvenir/ trinkets. Other than that this park is still pretty to walk through, but doesn't hold much entertainment value.

Along with hosting Concerts and big Events, Grant parks main attractions are Millennium Park and Buckingham Fountain. Its a must and makes the lakefront much more appealing. Even have a picnic on the grass but expect a mud pit from some of these events. Its perfect to get away from the hustle and bustle for a stroll along the lake. Come for the Grant Park Music Festival at Millennium Park, Lallapalooza, Blues Fest, or the Taste of Chicago during the summer.

Beautiful green space right on Lake Michigan. It is great to go jogging or taking a walk. I love the public concerts that they do during the many festivals that are hosted in the park.

Grant Park has undergone an incredible transformation over the last 10 years. The combination of greenery and art installations makes it one of the most impressive urban parks in North America.

A staple of Chicago. This park is a great place to grab some sun on a summer day, of film your first student film. Either way walk about!

There is a statue of Lincoln in Grant Park, and a statue of Grant in Lincoln Park. True story.

Beautiful park. "Chicago's Front Lawn" and really gives you amazing views of the skyline and lake. It is massive as well. Every year it plays host to Taste of Chicago, and Lollapalooza. There are monuments to Lincoln, Buckingham Fountain (picturesque) gardens, and a ice skating rink during the winter. Definitely worth checking out.

I unintentionally paid a visit to this park while in Chicago as I was walking through to get to the field museum at the end of Michigan Ave / end of downtown area.

I was pleasantly surprised that the park was well stocked and well kept as the grass was lusciously green and the fountain was the coolest part. I was told the park is well used for large concert events and such, and I can see why ... it's huge!

I don't know that this is a park I'd come to ... to say ... walk my dog, but I definitely like the park and would love to come here for special events!

So much green space in the heart of downtown; makes a nice stroll from north to south or vice versa

Grant Park is the centerpiece of Chi-town. Give it the once around to take in downtown and get a feel for the city's character.

Past Lincoln the urban landscape is brown and grey except for bright green winter vegetables --cabbage, spinach, chard, beets, squash -- in the potager garden.

A beautiful park right along the lakefront. Most weekends, there is either a concert or event. This is the place where many Chicagoans head to on the weekends

Description

It's thanks to Montgomery Ward of department store fame that Chicago is today graced with this green strip of land. Not wanting the view from his office to be spoilt, he petitioned the city to create this park for all to enjoy. The park hosts festivals like A Taste of Chicago and music often echoes from the bandshell.
