This is a really cool historic music venue in a seedy part of town. A must if you have the chance to see a great show here.

My favorite place for watching live music in the city. It's a cozy, dimly lit space with fancy decor, like chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. It attracts local talent and big names alike.

One of my top three favorite large venues in the city. It's relatively easy to get to from most places in the city, though the neighborhood around it isn't the prettiest (I hang out here most often, so I'm not saying it's bad). They serve food and have a full bar, but prices are regular, inflated concert prices.

A very elegant concert hall. Don't hesitate to watch a show here if you can!

Amazing venue for live music. Set in a beautiful, historic theater. Its a pretty small venue, with most of the space standing room only (there are a few great seats in the balcony if you want to sit, but you need to get there early.

It requires a trek through the Tenderloin to get there and it's kind of weird when you're there early for a show and everyone's eating dinner around you, but it's otherwise a pretty cute venue. It's got the charm of an older theater with pretty decent acoustics. It looks like a big venue, and you don't feel compacted, but the shows there still feel pretty intimate. They have some pretty good shows there too. Haven't been in a while, though, so I need an excuse to go again.

Small, but very cozy music hall. Watched Boyce Avenue here and the atmosphere of the Hall really let me connect with the band. Although it looks a bit run down on the outside, a great place to watch a concert!

The great American Music Hall is one of those places you really must see to believe. I have seen many live shows here over my years but besides the awesome bands that have graced this stage the architecture is simply stunning. I just love these smaller venues for live shows because everything is so much more intimate and makes for the ultimate concert going experience. The acoustics here are insane!
