    Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel

    Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel

The site of the first Oscars, this is one of Hollywood’s original glamour hotels. Named after Theodore Roosevelt and financed by a group including Douglas Fairbanks, Mary Pickford and Louis B. Mayer, it first opened its doors in 1927. Countless stars have been residents or guests over the years – Clark Gable and Carole Lombard paid five dollars a night ...

Holy moly - this hotel is one of the most modern artsy hotels I've ever been in. The interior decoration and ambiance here is the perfect mix of Hollywood hip to upscale classy. A neat oceanfront hotel near LA & OC yet it feels like an island when you are inside. Great place for a couples getaway or family vacation. The pools are perfect with a little water slide. Bring marshmallows, chocolate bar, graham crackers and skewers to make smores at the fire pit near the pool. There are plenty of restaurants to ...

    Mondrian Los Angeles

    Mondrian Los Angeles

    Class:
    25 reviews
Very Good! - 84% of guests recommend

I stayed in the one bedroom suite and it was fantastic. The decor was amazing, especially the giant mirror tvs that looked like something from Snow White. It is in a Las Vegas strip like part of West Hollywood but there are tons of shopping and bars around it. I would definitley consider staying here again.

To clarify, I have never stayed overnight at The Peninsula, but I have had Afternoon Tea and a massage at The Peninsula Spa. Both experiences are 5 stars! First, Afternoon Tea. Amazing. Completely different than the W in hollywood. The room interior here is drab, the vibe is more of a young business crowd. I did enjoy the pool area. Quiet, nice service.

    The Beverly Hilton

    The Beverly Hilton

    Class:
    18 reviews
Very Good! - 81% of guests recommend

This place is massive and can feel a bit impersonal but somehow manages to still deliver on style and a bit of Hollywood glamor. The rooms are a little dated and the staff can be unfriendly (especially at reception) but somehow the place still manages to be enjoyable. Ample eye candy at the pool.

Love, love, love this hotel. A few of the female employees were a little "snooty," which amazed me since if you're working there, you probably can't afford to stay there; but whatever. Otherwise, my husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

I have not eaten here nor have I stayed here. However, after perusing the lobby and adjacent areas and speaking with some of the attendants, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel or to bring visitors here for a lunch. Carefully restored, this hotel permeates a class that a hotel such as Shutters does not.
