This hotel is in the heart of Hollywood and therefore walking distance to a plethora of bars and restaurants, like Musso & Frank, Kitchen24, and Stout. Spacious rooms and friendly staff all wrapped up in a whimsical package. I'm not a big fan of boutique properties. Typically, high design equals small rooms, lots of attitude, and poor service. The SLS is a different story and is a great property. Well worth the visit.

This giant, deluxe resort has so much going on you never have to leave, which is fine by me. The location is beautiful, right on a dramatic rugged ocean point. We got upgraded to a suite. They have my friend a choice to take a look at a suite with 2 queen beds, but it was handicap-accessible, so the shower was different. Really, what more to say that the previous reviewers haven't? As Travis wrote, the Loews feels very corporate and impersonal. This is probably out of necessity, as they host a ton of conferences and have a constantly high turnover.
