    Extraordinary Desserts - Balboa Park

Extraordinary desserts has a huge selection of cakes and teas. The cakes are really rich, but they have really great flavor to them. Make sure to bring some friends to share a couple with. They also have at least 10 different kinds of teas to choose from. The line can get really long on weekends and nights, so be prepared ...

    World Famous (at Surfer Beach)

Located right on the boardwalk in Mission Beach, World Famous is a great spot to have brunch or dinner with a view of the ocean. Prices are decent for the ambiance, and the food is very good. Loved their seafood pasta.

    The Broken Yolk Cafe

It was heaven when I was a student at UCSD. Huge omelettes for a decent price to feed a student's belly. Now as a working professional, it's just a great place to split a meal with friends and catch up on the upper deck.

    Snooze

I love brunch, and Snooze has to be one of my favorite brunch spots! They serve some amazing benedicts! They also have pretty awesome pancakes, and you can choose to get a pancake flight. I love the ambience - high ceiling, naturally lighted and airy, perfect way to enjoy your morning! Friendly service too!

    Brockton Villa Restaurant

Best Brunch spot in La Jolla, hands down. The food excellent and the views are downright beautiful. 1) The coast french toast was awesome. 2) The crabcakes with the poached eggs were excellent. Enough said, next time I want to try some other things.

    The Mission

The line for breakfast is always, always ridiculous. I've only eaten here once, on a day where I wasn't allowed to eat meat. Luckily, they offer many vegetarian options, which is more than other San Diego breakfast restaurants can say. Many of the dishes are Mexican-inspired, including the drinks.

    Cottage

Upon a super short trip to San Diego, I chose to have one of my favorite meals of the day (breakfast) here and I'm glad I came to The Cottage. The food definitely doesn't compare to the breakfast and brunch spots I've had in LA, but no place in LA gives you complimentary coffee, blankets, and coffee cake while you ...

    Brian's 24

Holy big portions, Batman! Great spot for breakfast, huge menu. I had the chocolate chip pancakes and even one would have been plenty. Good food, great music, and an adorable waitress (SarahF)

    Fig Tree Cafe

Good food and a good atmosphere. The table I sat at (in the corner on the street side) was super wobbly. I think it was more because the floor wasn't exactly level and flat. But otherwise a very nice breakfast experience.

    Mama Kat's

Delicious home style food with a homey, family ambience. The hash browns are notable alone - I think they half bake them and then fry to finish. They're perfectly crispy on the outside and soft hash inside. Absolutely perfect. The only downfall to this delectable cooking is the inevitable loooong line - and on a Sunday morning, forget it.

    Bamboo Lounge

Bamboo Lounge is located in Hillcrest on University. They have great drink and food specials during the week! The patio is a popular place to sit in the back of the building. Tuesdays a wine and paint class is held there. Parking is awful so if you are attending an event get there early!
