    Balboa Park is a giant and awesome park in the middle of San Diego. There's something for everyone here. There's a dog park, several museums, cafes, and lots of area to just relax, have a picnic, or go for a bike ride. It's even pretty to just drive though.

    Cowles Mountain is a great hike and very accessible. I've seen people of all ages walk it, run it, with and without their dogs. Not too difficult but certainly a good workout. It is well maintained and used often. It can be very hot during the peak of the day and yes, rattlesnakes live here too!
