Everyone's favourite Greek village. Head down to the peninsula early if you want to catch the sunset - it gets pretty crowded down there!

A trip to Athens requires A visit to the Acropolis and Plaka. A shopping trip down Ermou Avenue. A drink in Psyrri. Coffee at Pure Bliss. A jaunt over to the Parliament Building for a change of the guards. A stroll through Thisseo to see how the real Athenians live.

One of my favorite beaches on the island!! The powder soft sand and crystal clear waters make this a favorite with the locals. There are plenty of chairs to rent, restaurants and bars for miles. In the summer there are huge raves that attract an international clientele, if you are looking for quiet then this might not be the best ...

This city is the largest in Northern Greece. The vibe is very different than Athens, it is more laid back and visually nicer. The promenade is the highlight with restaurants and cafes dotting the landscape. A great city to explore by foot.

A cute little town that is almost village like. You get more of a feel for local culture staying here and the restaurants serve better food and offer cheaper prices. A good base for exploring the island.

There are only a few hotels on this side of the island but the ones that are there are Luxurious and Perfect! You are a bit isolated but the good part about that is that on this very very busy island the beaches here are uninhabited. The hotels each offer private access but because the pools are so fabulous you ...

This is one of two upscale suburbs of Athens. Trendy restaurants and expensive boutiques line the streets. A nice place to spend the day.

Piraeus is the port for Athens and a major departure point for ferries to outlying islands. Central Athens is only 6 miles away to the Northeast. Gayle and I arrived here on the Norwegian Jade for a day stop, including a bus tour. You can take public transit from here to other points in the metropolitan area, but the hassle ...

Meteora is located quite far north and inland. We traveled there from Lefkas a few years ago when the new roads and bridges were not in place - took day and a half to get there. The views both from the valley floor and from the mountain roads are excellent. This is a rare place and a wonderful for photography. ...

Heraklion is the largest city on the island of Crete. The main airport and the the largest port are also here. It isn't as picturesque as Chania. It is chaotic, loud and the beaches just aren't as nice. In all fairness if you drive about an hour out of this city you will reach the most affluent part of the ...

It's the best place to catch a sunset, as opposed to tourists infested Oia and Fira! The view is unsurpassed by any spot in Santorini, and dare I say, the world!

In my opinion, Reth is the most beautiful department of Crete. It combines the characteristics of a small town along with these of a village, it accomodates lots of students, it has great stamping grounds, many historical places to visit, an interesting nightlife and picturesque places to walkabout.
