Acropolis deserves to have such a unique museum and finally it got it! I have done the hike years ago, in spring, when the sun was not burning too hot. We hiked it(with full backpacks) from the sea to the top, which is the opposite of what most people do. But i enjoyed it more. It was not really challenging or difficult, just a good hike. The scenery is great, the views very ...

    Temple of Olympian Zeus

    En bas d'Amalias, à l'angle d'Olgas, Athens, Greece
    36 reviews

A "must visit" place of Athens. It's story is quite interesting but the most impressive is the size of the temple. You won't be able to believe how could people living thousands years ago could ever build something like this!

    Syntagma Square

    Athens 10563, Greece
    22 reviews

Athens is most exciting when the people are out, and the people definitely come out to Syntagma Square during the Changing of the Guard. Soldiers, also known as Evzones, stand in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. They then march down the main street in a ceremonial fashion. It's a sight to see!

    Chania Crete

52 Scylla Road, Oyster Bay NSW, Australia
    10 reviews

The second largest city on the island of Crete is my favorite!! The town has historical interest, the restaurants are plentiful, great hotels and a nightlife as good as anyplace else in Europe. Make sure you rent a car and drive around the local suburbs and villages. Culture shock in a good way.

    Paleokastritsa, Greece
    2 reviews

A great hike to and from this historic fortress that served as watchtower to all movement along the Adriatic. It's grounds are being restored but are easily accessed and leave one with the sense that building a mountain on mountain CAN BE DONE!

The great hill that spreads throughout the eastern part of Athens, promises a spectacular view, tranquillity, hiking and one of the most picturesque places, totally natural and far away from the chaotic centre of the city.

    Athens 11742, Greece
    99 reviews

The greatest bulding ever built by the Atheneans, majestic and HUGE! It's to bad it's in such poor state. Guide told us that after Athens was invaded the Parthenon was used as gunpowder storage... naturally, and explosion eventually happened and as a result it was severely damaged.
