Its a classic, and if you want to get into the greatest mountain greasy spoon you'll ever experience, get there early. There is often a line especially in season, but worth a trip at least once. Run by a classic Big Bear crew of hipsters and local natives, they slap in on big and bold, and make no excuses. Everyone is welcome at the counter and waiting for a table might convince you to try it. The food is mountain portions, strong coffee and always great people watching. Bring a sticker and proudly stick it up on any wall - if you can find a place.
Look for the one from Venice Beach - that's our home and our sticker.

Small joint but great people n energy. Food is good plus decent portions. Write a message on the wall with a business card n come back to relive your visit.

I love this diner! The food is great and the portions are massive. I would highly recommend the following dishes: The blob, the mess, chocolate chip pancakes (i only order 1 they are so big), any of their omelets. I can remember the first time I ate here and I have had nothing but good experiences here. LOCALS TIP: plan on coming by early since there is usually a line straight out the door between 9AM and 1PM on weekends.

mmm.. a very hearty breakfast after some ziplining and hiking. They give you plenty of food for the price. Their pancakes are huuuggee and delicious. We had about a 10 minute wait before getting seated. The restaurant is small but seems to be very popular.

This is a great place for breakfast/brunch. No frills, really basic, and not cute and quaint. But the food is good, the staff is relatively nice, and the food is really good. Be prepared to wait! The turnover of tables was relatively quick while we were there, but it's a small place.

This place is a great little (and I mean LITTLE) mom-and-pop-hole-in-the-wall. Good diner food and fantastic coffee. Just be prepared to wait a while to get your grub on. NOT good foor groups... I'd say party of 6 max. Service is also very dinerish (a little slow and curt), but I'm not eating here to be waited on with a smile.
