The dinner I had in here was the one of the best dinners I have ever had in my life... They have an elegant menu including many dishes with game meat & innovative sauces... Hungarian wine is strong & goes very well with the game dishes... I recommend pheasant filled with fois gras & wrapped in smoked bacon... It was ...

This place had a nice terrace seating with a view, great for people watching. But the food itself wasn't that great. We paid a lot for mediocre, average-ish food. I did like that the coffee and tea came with a cute little tiny cookie with them. Overall, good for people watching, but go somewhere else for good food.

    Mokka Cafe & Restaurant

    1.72 mi from Gundel
    1 review

I went to Mokka Cafe & Restaurant in Budapest this summer while touring downtown Budapest with my family. It was truly a first-class dining experience. The steak was rare, as I requested, and the quality of the product was fantastic. One member of our party tried the lobster and she reported it was great as well. The service was attentive ...

Very nice atmosphere with great traditional Hungarian dishes. Those who prefer to eat non-Hungarian dishes will be satisfied too as the restaurant offers a large variety of food. On Saturday evening there was also a pianist playing the piano with nice music. The staff was very friendly and professional, we enjoyed a lot. website: http://www.spinozahaz.hu/etterem.php?lang=en

    Becketts Irish Bar and Restaurant

    1.24 mi from Gundel
    1 review

Can I give Becketts six stars? Not only do they have good food, good drinks, friendly staff and reasonable prices, but their live music is amazing. One of their regular bands, "Smile," will bring you right back into the 90s (in a good way) with their nostalgic Oasis tributes and other classic songs. It's also a fun place to come ...

    KARMA Kávézó és Étterem

Karma Cafe and Restaurant. We ate here on several occasions, the food was good, service excellent, and the vibe and location first class. They also did an excellent choice of coffee and snacks at lunchtime. We particularly enjoyed sitting at the outside tables, which were provided with 'space heaters' and blankets for the chilly evenings. It was always very busy.

Bors is a soup and sandwich place run by some guys who used to work in fancy restaurants. The soups and sandwiches are creative and delicious. They also do house-made sodas which are great. I absolutely recommend this place if you're in Budapest! They speak English and will happily translate the menu for you. Service is great but there's not ...

This restaurant was located just down the street from our hotel, so we stopped in one night to treat ourselves to a meal. You really will need to know where to look for this tiny cafe. It is worth searching for, however. The cafe specializes in chocolate in every form. My dad was literally dripping sweat all over his face the last time we ate here. And he didn't stop eating, which tells you just how worthwhile the food is. This is probably the best Indian restaurant in Budapest - amazing curries, naan, tandoori lamb, all in an elegant, almost palace-like setting with chandeliers and red and gold decor. If ...
