This community of about 346 people feels a bit like Mayberry (if you ever watched the old Andy Griffith show). Neighbors know each other and innkeepers help each other out. If Janie of the Bear Track Inn hears from a traveler that her rates may not fit a person's budget, she'll recommend B&B's such as the one where I stayed, The Blue Heron (see separate review). At Four Corners where the gas station and Fireweed Gallery (and coffee shop are located), people occasional spot a moose or a bear traveling down the road. I didn't manage to spot any moose or bears there during my June 2011 visit, but I enjoyed several cups of coffee at the Fireweed Gallery.
