Such a beautiful resort, right on the beach in Waikiki. Elegant and at the same time modern, the Halekulani will steal your honeymooner heart with its designer suites, opulent spa and cool stone tiled hallways lit by softly glowing lanterns at night. Even if you're not staying here, you'll want to make time to come by for a drink and to catch the sunset hula dancer (a former Miss Hawaii) and live Hawaiian music in the hotel's open-air courtyard, the House Without a Key.Recommended for:

The Halekulani is one of the best (although many would argue that it IS the best) hotels in stay in the Waikiki area. I love the serene and zen like surroundings but there is very little beach out front…but that's ok too…there is still plenty of beach in close proximity. The service at this hotel I have say is impeccable and welcoming.Recommended for:

I received a gift certificate to use for their Spa services and I couldn't have had a better experience - especially for my husband's first time for a massage!
I called in to schedule our massages and Ryan was SO accommodating! Even though we were to have separate massages, he booked us in a couples room at no extra charge. He also graciously applied the Kama'aina discount to our services! My gift certificate covered everything with a little left over. Ryan also explained that valet was covered!
Day of we pull up to valet - the spa is to your immediate left when coming from the vehicle entrance. We were asked to fill out the initial health form and then introduced to our masseuses. They escorted us to a nearby couple's suit and sat us at the lanai for our initial foot massage.
Massage was great. What was even better was the bathroom for our use after the massage! It was humungous - complete with HUGE whirlpool tub, walk in shower and separate commode. To complete the services, we were escorted to a reserved lounging area and was served tea (hot or cold) with a mochi ice cream.
Felt completely relaxed and no pressure to leave. Awesome service. Awesome experience. Definitely a great place to experience a couple's massage!Recommended for:

One of the oldest hotels on the strip of Waikiki these hotel has a beautiful outdoor bar lounge where they hold nightly entertainment plus delicious eats from appetizers to main course. Come check out the scenic sunset with wine in hand and appetizers for the evening.Recommended for:

Beautiful and stunning hotel! They really pay attention to details, the carpets and pool have orchid designs, the lobby check-in area smells of exotic flowers, and the grounds are so well manicured. It's really worth the money to stay, dine, and enjoy Halekulani.

A beautiful hotel located along the beach in Honolulu. I came here to attend a wedding. Guests were welcomed on the ground floor and then we were asked to go upstairs where the ballroom was located. The hotel is very close to Waikiki and there are several restaurants and shops within walking distance.Recommended for:
As much as I love the location of this 5-star resort, I have found that 4-star resorts in the neighborhood provide a better value, in my opinion. This hotel has amazing food/restaurants, but you don't have to stay there to enjoy that. The pool is tiny. The staff is OK, but when they messed up a reservation for me, they were not quick to resolve the situation. I have had better stays at the Kahala (also 5-stars but in a slightly removed location) and the Royal Hawaiian, which is almost next door.Recommended for:
We came here as a family a couple months ago and LOVED IT!!! :) before we came I'd read that it wasn't really a family hotel, but I'd beg to differ. The service was perfect for anyone, from couples to our family and the kiddies were delighted by the little gifts they got. The beach is also great for small kids because it's relatively small, so there are no long walks. The restaurant is somewhat of a splurge but when you're in Waikiki, there's really no worries on the food front. Heavenly beds and large rooms rounded out our perfect vacactionRecommended for:

A beautiful, high class hotel right at the beach in Waikiki. It has a smaller pool than other large hotels, but the beach is right there in front of the hotel for a swim and tanning session. No obstructions. Just clear views of the ocean and Diamond Head beyond.
The restaurants and high quality customer service were also notable. Be sure to check out La Mer for dinner and Orchids for brunch buffet. It's one of my favorite hotels in Waikiki!Recommended for:

If I could stay in any hotel in Waikiki, it would be the Halekulani. Conveniently located behind the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, it's close to action yet far back away enough to be in its own quiet zone. This pink palace is surely the stuff of dreams, from the architecture to their section of the beach behind the hotel (one of my favorite sections, as its not too crowded and its clean).Recommended for:

When a hotel has so much history, and so much hype, I guess it's easier to get disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed my two experiences here (neither were to actually stay here) but, they were not experiences I'd rave about.
Was here the first time for a wedding. Venue is beautiful, but, it didn't feel unique or special. There were maybe 3 weddings happening on the grounds that same day, at the same time, and for some reason, that always rubs me the wrong way a little.
Then I was there for dinner at La Mer. Not sure what it was, but it also just didn't live up to the hype.
Guess the lesson learned here is to go in with no expectations!Recommended for:
Elegant, charming and sophisticated. This gem in the middle of Waikiki offers a quiet, calm retreat in the middle of the chaos of Waikiki Beach. the gorgeous grounds and impeccable service are all yours for a small fortune if you choose to stay here or you can have an elegant, romantic dinner at the House Without A Key Restaurant. The views are unparalleled but the sunset views might be blocked during certain times of the year from this outstanding property.
This is a great hotel, with top-notch service. When we checked in and went to the room, we found that the TV wasn't working. We were moderately annoyed, but were immediately upgraded to a one-bedroom suite free of charge. Talk about service!! Although the hotel beach is a bit small, you can walk from here to any of the major beaches in a couple of minutes. I'd definitely stay here again!
