I've never camped here, but often ride by on my bike. You can pitch your tent on a cliff over the ocean. Campsites have picnic tables, fire pits, and restrooms nearby. There's also space for RVs. It can get windy, and it's rarely hot. If you have a bicycle set out on the paved Coastal Trail. Or bring your board and try the surf.

This state park is a gem! I leave in San Mateo so its a short 20 min drive to get to this place. Essentially this state beach has everything I need to be happy, good waves for surfing on a good south swell, easy parking, picnic and camping area, and awesome views of Half Moon Bay.

A beautiful long sandy beach, that is seldomly made a destination by anyone bu the locals here. There is some epic surf here though when the sand bars are set-up. It is also a place to watch out for the shore break though, as it can get pretty epic.
