This cove was made infamous in the 60's in a movie with a kiss. Its actually a pretty small area and is located near a blow hole and directly next to the main road around the perimeter of the island.

Gorgeous and historic beach on Oahu. A lot has changed over the years, but it all makes sense because they want to preserve this area where you can swim and hang out with the marine life in the area. Visitors must watch a introductory video before going in, and also pay a fee. When I was a kid, we could ...

Where did all the tourists go? You will have left them behind by the time you find your way to Waimanalo Beach, Oahu's longest stretch of golden sand, with calm waves for swimming and lots of grass for just snoozing nearby a palm tree. Waimanalo is actually a collection of two county beach parks in addition to US military beachfront ...

This place had really nice views of the Oahu coast and a nice place to take pictures with the gorgeous scenery. The area is easy to find with the signs and has a small parking lot. If you come here on the weekend during midday, it is super busy and it felt like a tourist trap with all the huge ...

I've been to Hawaii before so on my recent trip here I made it a point to do a hike on this visit. My vist to Koko Head was my first place to hike on the island. Some folks I talked to before my trip described this as a more intermediate place to hike since there was parts of the ...

Koko Crater Botanical Garden's address is technically in Honolulu, but it is about 30 minutes east of the city, in the neighborhood of Hawaii Kai. Koko Crater is also very close to several other amazing parks, beaches, and hikes. So even though the botanical garden only takes up about two hours of your day, you'll have so much potential to ...

I've only participated in three of their events so far, but I'm sold! It's always such a great experience! Tickets average about $40-$45 per event per person, but considering the variety and quantity of food I got for that price, I think it's worth it. I never leave feeling hungry, that's for sure.

We parked at a nearby residential street where there is another makeshift entrance to the paved trail. From here it's a steep incline up. At one point you will see dirt paths veering off to the left. If you follow one of the main dirt trails (you should pass a little pile of rocks), between the bushes at the cliff ...

A gorgeous lookout with the perfect combination of brilliant blue water, beach front, mountains, rocks, a near bye island, and a beautiful lush green horizon. The higher you climb the better the view. Don't Miss It. One of the favorite spots I've ever been. Went back twice.

Great hike with a good Veiw at the end. Many parts are shaded / under trees. The start of the hike is in a residential section of Hawaii Kai. It's not crowded and is a nice way to spend the afternoon.

This was the first Whole Foods in Hawaii, and I can't say that it was a bad idea. I love all their organic and health food items, but mostly I enjoy the fresh food they serve. It makes for a interesting and easily chosen/bought meal.

Venture below Doris Duke's Shangri La and you'll come across Cromwell's, an oceanfront area created by her husband. It's a bit tricky to reach the area, so those with small children or balance issues should eschew this area and stick with the beachfront nearby. Watch kids backflip into the water off the rocks and marvel at the sign next to ...

I've stepped into my fair share of mansions in my lifetime, however I rarely ever feel compelled to say I want to live in any particular one... until now. Doris Duke's Shangri La is elegant and understated, culturally significant as a work of art as much as it is a pinpoint in American history. The heiress's estate is filled with ...

Sure, you can get your "crack seed" (dried fruit candy that's either salty, sweet, sour, spicy or all of the above) pre-packaged at Longs Drugs or any island grocery store. But head over to this family-owned candy store for real homemade treats. Glass jars that holds several pounds of candy each proffer crack seed in almost any flavor you can ...
