Their mission: “to bring together two of America’s greatest traditions: gourmet half-pound burgers and drag queens.” Their execution: perfect. Hamburger Mary’s is located in a beautiful corner right on Church Street and takes on some mod and glossy 1960s décor on the interior. They have a lot of special events, including trivia nights, Broadway brunch, and even drag queen bingo – which is quite a combination. But while it may sound a little gimmicky, Mary actually serves up a massive selection of tasty appetizers and specialties. The black and bleu chips are fantastic; homemade, deep-fried potato chips with crumbled bleu cheese and sweet balsamic vinegar drizzled over the top. There are some very cute touches – expect to find your check sliding across the table to you in a high-heeled shoe. All in all, Hamburger Mary’s is a great LGBT-friendly spot that offers craveable food and fun for any crowd.Recommended for:
