Stayed here on my second night in Solvang. Cute little inn that was clearly mostly decorated with Ikea furniture but cute all the same. The rooms are really big (which I like because I enjoy spreading out all the contents of my luggage all over the room) and the bathrooms are clean as well. Also they have the most adorable bikes you can just take to roam around Solvang! Very well priced for what you get!

Most of the motels in Solvang are overpriced and sorely lacking in recent renovations. Not so the tidy, Scandinavian-modern and boutique-on-a-budget Hamlet Inn. Blossoming flower boxes, minimalist interior design and a chipper manager will all make you feel welcome, as will the comparatively reasonable rates. Free parking and Wi-Fi, too.

A convenient motel that's modernized with Danish furnishing in the heart of Solvang. Hamlet Inn is a great selection; there's two happening bars across the Street for the night and Paula's Pancake (http://www.yelp.com/biz/…) for the morning.,,there's not much night activities here, so being across the street from a bar (Viking Bar on Fridays) with live entertainment was a bonus!
As for the room itself, the place is clean and simple. The room has the essentials: 2 sets of towel, soaps, shampoo, blow dryer, cups, tissues, ice bucket, and a comfy bed with three pillows. I'm not sure if Hamlet has a toothbrush/toothpaste set available, so bring your own or call ahead to ask. Hamlet Inn is not cheap due to the being in the heart of Solvang, but you pay for the convenience if that's what you're looking for.
Checkout is at 11am and check in is at 1pm; Free bike rentals can be returned by 1pm if you're checking out that same day. PS. Hamlet offers some 2 for 1 coupons for wine tastings, so make sure to ask!

I haven't stayed here because it requires a 2 night stay, but I'm obsessed with this hotel chain. There are 2 others in Santa Barbara, as well. Totally affordable - sometimes $69/night! And free beach cruisers to explore the town.
