I lived in Hammersmith and Fulham for five years. It's a bustling urban locale in West London, a short bus trip to Piccadilly Circus, soho and other hipster locations in W1.

    The River Café

    0.46 mi from Hammersmith

The prices are high, but the food is so good it’s worth it. I once read somewhere that the best Italian food in Europe can be found at the River Café — meaning even better than Italy itself. I’m sure that made the Italians angry… and perhaps it was a generous compliment, but the food is really that good. The ...

Posh fish and chip joint a stone's through from the smart (and expensive) Brook Green area. Terrific, gleaming interior kitted out in white glazed tiles and a loyal following from some of the area's better-heeled residents.

One of the most charming pubs in London, made extra special by its historical interior and vantage point over a particularly lovely stretch of the River Thames. For a literary prelude to any visit here, get hold of a copy of 'One for the Road' the memoirs of George Izzard, the pub’s landlord from 1931 to 1965. He recalls visits ...

The specialty at this local eatery near Olympia exhibition center is Argentinean steak and it shows. The steak was flavorful and perfectly cooked and the service was excellent. The Bernaise sauce offered on the side was great for dipping chips in.

A little bit of Persian paradise in west London. The surrounding high street is a bit miserable, a parade of pound shops and ugly local authority offices, but the place is always packed with a mainly Persian clientele who love the food (just as I do). The cuisine is pretty authentic and reasonably priced. All bread is baked fresh on ...

    The Cow Pub

    2.35 mi from Hammersmith

This is a great little gastro-pub and I loved my oysters and welks and could easily crave the cow's perfectly cooked steak. We sat downstairs--(upstairs seems less appealing)--and there was a little bit of a wait for a free table, but the food was definitely worth the wait. The Cow is first rate and I will absolutely be back.
