Hmmm...how to explain this...I felt like I if Target made a hotel. Not the worst thing--Target is better than Walmart--but not exactly the escape you hope for in a hotel. The lobby just had that flourescent, big, cheap department store feel. And this diner? Restaurant? I don't know what they call it that felt like a food court. Once you get past the commercial feel of the lobby, the rooms are bit better. Less manufactured, more just standard economy hotel room. I actually find that comforting in a way, I think because it reminds me of all the Motel 6's and Ramada Inn's I crashed in on family road trips. If you like knowing what to expect from a hotel, it's a good spot. It's also close to city life and all the tourist sites.Recommended for:Family Travelers

It's a chain hotel and you feel it, down to the processed breakfast and snack foods. It's clean and efficient, and in a great location convenient to public transit and lots of historic sites, restaurants, and shops. You can follow the Parkway practically from the doorstep and hit the Barnes and Rodin museums, and the stellar Philadelphia Museum of Art. Back inside the hotel, however, there's no enchantment. I did enjoy the little lap desk they provide in the room for writing or using your laptop in bed--what a great amenity! And I did like that I could wander down to the lounge any time night or day and pump some fresh coffee. There's a basic fitness center, tiny pool, and computer/copier center, making it a good spot for business travelers.Recommended for:Business Travelers
