Why aren't there more tempura places in LA! I'd be eating them ALL the time.
GET #1 Edomae Ten-Don!
Giant piece of tempura fried sea eel + all the goodies.
Sadly the last time I came they somehow ran out of eel! They assured me that this was an extremely rare occurrence and that I shouldn't need to worry about it in the future before making the 40 min trip to the area.
Got the Original Ten-don instead aka fried fish instead of eel.
Tasted like fish and chips to me. Wasn't anything too special.
Stick with #1!

Located inside the Mitsuwa market in the food court this is the place to order from if you like tempura. The menu consists of either tempura over a bowl of rice or a tempura box with rice and miso soup on the side. I like their fish tempura, the tempura seaweed, and jalapeno tempura. All very unique and tasty. The shrimp tempura are also good, but they are smaller than the ones you get elsewhere. It takes a little longer to get your food from here since they pretty much fry the tempura when you order, but if you’re not in a rush, I would recommend giving it a try.
