    Hoan Kiem Lake

    52 reviews

The centrepiece of Hanoi's Old Quarter, this pretty urban park makes a great place for a stroll, with some good surrounding bars and restaurants, and the ability to walk for whole minutes without the threat of being run over by a speeding scooter. The temple-pavilion in the center of the lake is hardly worth the price of admission, but it's ...

    Hanoi Opera House

    9 reviews

The Hanoi Opera house stands as a cultural symbol of Hanoi. You can buy the ticket at the cabin in front of this and enjoy many events there. The architect of this place is so amazing. At night, you can sit on the pavement around and have some ice-tea like the Hanoian.

    Vietnam Fine Arts Museum

    6 reviews

If you are an art enthusiast ( like me!) I would recommend paying a visit to the Museum. Beautiful art work and a very well done Museum. For those of you who do not enjoy galleries, you would be best to skip it.

    Vietnam History Museum

    6 reviews

The museum forecourt is full of weaponry: pride of place goes to a Russian MiG 21 fighter, alongside artillery from the battle of Dien Bien Phu and a tank from the American War, while the second courtyard is dominated by the mangled wreckage of assorted American planes piled against a tree. The exhibition proper starts on the arcaded building‘s second ...

    St. Joseph's Cathedral

Interesting old church in Hanoi. Worth stopping in if you are walking by, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it. Usually very quiet ( obviously not on Sundays :)

    Vietnam Women's Museum

    4 reviews

Very good a must must to see what the woman have to go through and been through over the years, I felt heart broken after reading some of the things, like the street woman that have to get up at 4am work until 7.30pm just so they can feed there children and sent them to school, most of of them ...

    Ho Chi Minh Museum

    1 review

I arrived at this massive building feeling skeptical that the museum was going to be a complete propaganda-style devotion to Ho Chi Minh. Instead, I was somewhat surprised that the museum tries to make a serious attempt to explain the history of Communism in Vietnam.

Vietnam Military History Museum - Viện Bảo Tàng Quân Đội

    1 review

Geez: Vietnam has a SERIOUS history of war. This sometimes-brutal Hanoi museum chronicles several centuries of Vietnamese warfare in a propagandist mode, focusing particularly on the liberation struggle against the French, and the tragic American War. Signs on exhibits like, "This knife was used to kill a traitor" at times seem needlessly brutal, but it's an interesting place to learn ...

    Museum of Vietnamese Revolution

    1 review

I accidentally came here because, looking at my map (and the sign on the gate saying "Vietnam History Museum"), I thought it was the History Museum. In fact, it was not. The artifacts are alright and have decent descriptions. The problem is that there is at no point any description of the history of each war that it shows artifacts ...
