Most visitors come to Hanover as part of an exhibition, and so do not have much time to explore the city. The first stop is usually Kropcke, a large downtown pedestrian shopping area that is also home to the opera house and multiple historical museums. Hanover is a very modern city with ample dining, shopping and, in typical German fashion, drinking options. Be sure to visit some of the many famous beer gardens the city has to offer.
