This is a very large hotel and it is a bit dated but the indoor / outdoor layout of the public spaces, the room quality, and attractive beach make this a pleasant choice. Prices vary significantly but this spot can be very good value. If you have trouble getting a good rate, try a UA vacation package. We were able to get 40% off the lowest rate on the website at the time we booked.
The biggest detractor for me here is the lack of good dining options. In addition, all facilities (including room service) close at 9. No mini-bar or in-room food is available either. This would be a 4 but the lack of service makes it a 3 in my book.

The Hapuna Beach Prince is a gorgeous hotel. One work can describe its lobby area: epic. The multi-level structure offers sunset views from each floor. There are several eateries and lounges on premises, as well as a spa and salon. It’s a large place, and from the lobby to the pool to the restaurant, you could walk up a sweat.
Rooms are spacious and nice. Bathrooms were particularly well-managed. The balconies were a plus. The one major downside is that the hotel charges for Wi-Fi. This is just strange to me in this modern age. Keep the robe and slippers and let me have my Gogobot!
I do like that they provide Kona coffee with the coffeemakers, and that they replenish them each day. I’ve been to some hotels that don’t do this. I need coffee, and this is a huge load off my mind.
The property is a bit further north that I would care to stay in the future, but it’s a really nice area. A drive to downtown Kona takes about 20-30 minutes.

The Hapuna Beach Prince is a luxury hotel with 350 rooms. It is located within a gated facility with well-maintained terraced gardens. The property also has
rooms for conferences and meetings. The on-site golf course, tennis court, and swimming pool are great amenities to keep one busy while nearby. Get a massage at the on-site spa or pretty up at the Paul Brown Salon. Then relax in the evening and fill up at the sushi bar or the Coast Grille Organic Food Ocean Terrace restaurant overlooking the ocean.
There is also a shop for nice Hawaiian clothing. The common grounds of this hotel are comparable to other luxury hotels. The rooms were decorated with ordinary decor. The room has a nice queen size bed, TV (not flat-screen), a coffee pot with a daily refill of Kona coffee, and a patch of private green lawn right outside of the patio.
The hotel does charge a fee for Wi-Fi access.Recommended for:Luxury Travelers

Can't beat the location. For the price, I might stay at the Muana Kea which I think has a bit for "verve" and personality. This hotel is clean, quiet, well laid out but a bit too quiet for my taste. There is a reserved attitude here that I think suits older travelers better than younger counterparts. I'd 100% have a wedding here but its not a place I'd hoot and holler for a 50th birthday celebration. Nice compact size (as opposed to the other mega resorts on this side of island) and very solid dining options. Just needs more Hawaiian architecture and design to go along with excellent location.

The main draw of the Hapuna Beach Prince is certainly the absolutely spectacular closely located beach bearing the same name. Located within six miles from the Kona Airport, there are also a number of Golf Courses to be found both directly east of the hotel at the Hapuna Golf Course, and south a few miles to three popular Waikoloa beachfront courses. Dining isn't too hard to find, although if you are looking for excitement and variety in dining and nightlife you might want to consider an Oahu hotel. The Hapuna Beach Prince is a great facility with an even better location that really should be the first place considered by visitors heart set on visiting the ecologically diverse Big Island of Hawaii.

Everything about this hotel is really nice. Its golf course is pretty tough, and the pool area is complete with cabanas. The beach is semi-private, as all resort beaches are in Hawaii. Although the hotel restaurants are not quite top-notch, the big island has plenty of other restaurants.
The Hapuna Beach Prince site is the presence of a series of underground springs. In ancient times, during seasons of heavy rainfall these springs would bubble to the surface, creating natural artesian fountains. The resort is equipped with banquet and wedding facilities. An on-site Ricoh Business Cetner and six conference rooms are available for use. Lounge areas overlook the ocean, and a restaurant provides sunset dining. An outdoor pool sits behind the property. A Paul Brown salon and day spa is located on premises.
The resort features 350 guest room and 36 oceanfront suites. Spacious rooms include patios and full baths. In-room safes, toiletries, complimentary slippers, private lanais, TVs, waffle robes, mini-refrigerators and coffeemakers with daily Kona coffee are provided. Wireless Internet is available at a surcharge.
