I sang the National Anthem here once, shortly after 9/11, and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. The park is gorgeous, both from the field up and from the top down. As a concert venue, it's as functional as any stadium, albeit cleaner and with slightly fancier food options. The surrounding area is quite beautiful as ...

Stop in on your walk along San Francisco's Embarcadero. Everything you do (or don't) need is here, being sold by boutique vendors. Chocolates, olive oil, lard (!), designer ceramic ware, hats, kitchen gear, books, and lots of good food and coffee. And ice cream, and candy, and fruit, and mushrooms. Walk along the bayside for salt breeze and blue water ...

Take a drive on the section of Lombard Street that is called "The Crookedest Street in the World" and then on some of the city's steepest streets nearby. Just a really, really cool place. They occasionally (probably once a year) have a free day. Lines were pretty long but definitely worth it. Otherwise tickets aren't too expensive - great place to entertain kids for the day. Surprisingly good food in the cafeteria, you can literally spend the whole day there!

SF's Chinatown is amazing. It's crazy busy and it reminds me of Asia, for sure. There are lot of random stores like bakeries, souvenir shops, restaurants, pharmacies, etc. The area is really old, but it has a lot of personality and culture which I love. It feels authentic and historic. After lunch at a Vietnamese spot, a small group of ...
