It's worth stopping at the original Hard Rock Cafe, the first of the ever-expanding chain, which opened in this former Rolls Royce dealership in the 1970s. To any rock fan, this is a pilgrimage. It has an extensive memorabilia collection, the same great American diner-style food, and the original Eric Clapton guitar he offered to the owners before the Hard Rock Cafe became a worldwide phenomenon. Eat, drink, and rock.

Normally, we would never even step foot on the same block as a Hard Rock Cafe. But this one carries special significance in our family, as The Yuppie's British uncle used to manage this restaurant many decades ago. So we did our duty and went, waited an hour and a half for a dirty table, and spent $90 on two drinks, one appetizer, one entree, and a hearty helping of pride.Recommended for:Family Travelers

Used to be obsessed with Hard Rock Cafe when I was in high school. Now, I'm a little more meh about it. Sure, you can depend on reliable food there, but why go here when there are so many other more interesting places to experience?
However, if there is any HRC that you should go to, it's the original one.

The Hard Rock Cafe is about 4 blocks south of Hyde Park. It has a great location, and when we were there it was an hour wait to get a table. We look forward to going back the next time we're in London.

It's the one, the only... ok, maybe not. But it IS the original and it's fun to check it out. You'll be amazed by just how small Mick Jagger really is (one of his stage costumes in framed on the wall). If you were ever going to go to The Hard rock Cafe, this is the time to do it. And buy a t-shirt, you know you want to!

If you have been traveling a lot and are in need of a burger, some mac and cheese, or a pulled pork sandwich, this is the place for you. You may have been in other Hard Rock locations. But, you need to come to this London location at least once. This is a good place to find a little something for your t-shirt collection....Just don't wear it while in London, ok?
