Had a pretty excellent time here at the Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana. All inclusive was very nice, no worries about food or drink. I usually tipped extra, as almost all of the workers were very friendly and accommodating. The only hiccup was check in, this took a very long time. However, check out was a breeze, the room service breakfast was spot on, otherwise the food was just ok (the only thing if you want room service at any other hour is pretty much a burger or quesadilla). Great pools, beach was beautiful, sprawling resort with little trams to get people around quicker. Did I mention the in room jacuzzi?

I didn't think I'd ever want to go to an all-inclusive, but now I look at all-inclusive vacations in a whole new light. The Hard Rock Hotel does relaxation better than just about anywhere I've ever been. They've got NINE restaurants, but a few of the more casual ones aren't all that great. (My favorites are Zen, the Benihana-like spot where chefs cook your meal up right in front of you, and Toro, the steakhouse.) For a resort that's right on the beach, not many people were actually *on* the beach, so I sometimes had a gorgeous powder-soft sandy beach mostly to myself, especially before 9am.
The entertainment is also, as you can imagine, the best in Punta Cana. I saw a metal band play covers in the Moon Lounge one night, and went dancing in the new Oro nightclub one of the first nights it opened. Two radically different nightlife events, but both outlandishly fun.Recommended for:

I personally would not choose this resort for my island vacation. My husband does like to play cards & the casino was not bad! I would say though, that our host was definitely not on her game as one in Vegas would be.
Apparently there is tons to do here : pools, nightclubs, bars, mini golf, shopping (they have an app so u can check that out) the shopping was terrible IMHO. I guess it's just a one stop shop at the HardRock. The crowd is generic, loud, spring-breaker style, too many kiddos. Doesn't seem like the place to get away from it all. I gave it 4 stars bc I'm a bit of a snob lol AND I didn't actually stay there.Recommended for:

I usually don't stay at all-inclusive resorts, but this was a truly incredible experience. The sprawling property has every luxury imaginable, including fifteen pools, nine gourmet restaurants, a handful of nightclubs and the biggest casino in the DR. It seems like a lot, but there's also a distinct sense of privacy. Not to mention amazing guest rooms with a double Jacuzzi tub in the middle of every living room!Recommended for:
