The skyscraper that this hotel is located in is probably the most impressive architecture in downtown Chicago. The hotel is also located smack on the edge of Wacker Ave. Its close proximity to the Chicago river is a bonus cause you really get to experience unique views of Chicago's skyline. On our next visit- we will definitely be staying here!!!Recommended for:

My home for the last 4 days.
As you go in, you'll notice the modern decor of the lobby (they even have a ping pong table). Check in was breeze and within minutes I was in my room on the Madonna Floor (10th floor).
The room was clean and I had 2 Queen size bed. Even though I asked for one King size bed (no biggie). I had a desk to work in (which I really needed) the bathroom was very spacious and clean.
You're in downtown - close to a lot of good restaurants, Millennium Park and other attractions
Service was very friendly and helpful.
Wifi was Free!! Ask the front desk for the code when you first check in.
Room temperature - My room was cold and even when I changed the thermostat, the heater didn't kick in. Others I talked to had the opposite problem, room was too hot. I rather be cold than warm lol
Room noise - you can hear the outside traffic. At night, the ambulances sirens (it's close to a hospital).
The windows - they open. I just think that's dangerous, specially if you have kids.
Warning: the mini fridge has sensors. If you move anything, you'll automatically be charged. Same goes for the snacks on the table.
Lounge - fun place at night. They had performers rocking out the place. Small bar inside.
Exercise room - nice sized and clean
Restaurant - Chuck: A Kerry Simon Kitchen - good food & good service.
Hard Rock Store
I enjoyed my stay here and I look forward to a return visit.Recommended for:

The Hard Rock is housed in the famed Art Deco-style Carbide & Carbon skyscraper, which was completed in 1929. Inside, each floor is dedicated to a different famous recording artists, with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of memorabilia on display.

You have to love a hotel that looks like a champagne bottle just ready to be pops for celebration. The beautiful carbide and carbon building is located on Michigan Avenue and just as cool as you would expect. Exceptional service and electric guitars lining the walls makes a pool table in the lobby look totally appropriate.

Big rooms, and they had live music in the bar on a Tuesday night. All staff has been very friendly and helpful. For those of you in the advertising industry, the location couldn't be much more convenient for many of the agencies on N Michigan Ave. For you shoppers out there, the hotel is a hop skip and jump from the famous Magnifican Mile. Be warned, the WiFi has been excruciatingly slow.

I'm a total geek when it comes to music memorabilia, so I always love the Hard Rock hotels. Each floor is themed around a musical group; we stayed on "Chicago," which was fitting. Wish there was a pool, but it was a chic, comfy stay near a Lake Michigan beach and everything else we wanted to see.

This hotel will make you feel cool if you care about that sort of thing and it will make you feel comfortable (and centrally located) if you don't. The sleek lobby has a chill downbeat vibe during the day, with guests working on computers and vactioning passersby popping in to buy T shirts, magnets and buttons from the attached Hard Rock gift shop. Things get decidedly more interesting at night when literally any celebrity could find themselves mingling with you in the elevator and an onsite ballroom concert series all but rendering the concierge unnecessary. The rooms are comfortable and elegantly modern with the flat panel tvs and iPod docks travelers are coming to expect. Ours wasn't huge, but we were told since it's an historic building they vary in size. I got a kick out of the band-themed floors including some impressive memorabilia on the "Chicago" level. There's no pool, but Lake Michigan and the Oakton Street Beach is visible from the mid to higher floors.

The Hard Rock Hotel IS Rock N Roll. It is like Metal had a baby with Rhythm N Blues and this hotel is the result. The room was so cool with retro 60’s style furniture. I really liked the new shag carpets and the white trio of circular mirrors on the wall. The staff is so friendly, you really do feel like a rock star when you stay here. I did not get to see my idol SLASH during my stay, but the sales manager Aron mentioned there were going to be around twenty five celebrities on site for the weekend including: Kid Rock, Ke$ha, and LLCool J! I liked Seeing Dan Donegan’s guitar and outfit--Disturbed fan here! The lobby bar feels like the most “Rock N Roll” spot, and it’s dimly lit, and has a big couch that you could picture Avenged Sevenfold having drinks in. Such a cool place!
