The restaurant opens at 6pm and they normally do not take reservations. They take reservations only for large groups. Get there at 5:15 bc there will be a long line. 1st seating is at 6pm and 2nd seating is it 7:30pm. If you get second seating, go nearby to Gitano for a drink and then get back to Hartwood by 7:30. I recommend the jicama salad, squash salad, octopus and catch of the day. All of the sides are great too: the menu changes daily and is seasonal. Amazing service!

Probably the most popular restaurant along Tulum's beach road, Hartwood usually has a line outside the gate when they open at 6pm (they don't take reservations). The restaurant is open air, everything is cooked over an open fire, and waiters carry around large chalk boards instead of menus, which change daily. My grilled squash was amazing, but my enormous chunk of snapper was very unevenly cooked. Bring cash, like most Tulum restaurants, Hartwood doesn't accept credit cards.
