Hasagawa's General Store

5170 Hana Hwy, Hana, Hawaii
4.5
9 reviews

When you are driving to Hana, this is one of the spots you don't want to miss when you get there. The food is fantastic, and you can grab plenty of things to keep you content on the drive back. Much more than your typical General Store, and the best thing going in Hana, at least in regards to shopping.

This is a one of a kind art gallery featuring only Hawaiian artists. It feels more like a museum and no pressure browsing. I love the feel of this beautiful place and it is located at the one hotel in town, Travaasa.

The hike down here may make your knees hate you. So caution to the klumsy, the arthritis-stricken, and the weak-jointed. Otherwise, the hike down here leads you to a pretty red sand beach. Given the accessibility and its point in the Hana journey, I feel like this beach is less populated than the rest.

I only gave it 4 stars because it would only be of interest who love the Hawaiian history and want to spend time looking through old photos and artifacts. I love the spot and have spent hours here as a person wanting to learn more about the Hana history.

A short uphill walk (1/2 mile) from the Hotel Hana Maui parking lot, through the pastures on a paved path is "the cross". From here you have a panoramic view of the town from Hana School to Alau Isla

Hamoa gets my vote for the most beautiful beach on Maui. Nestled in the old Hawaii charm of Hana town, its landscape is so vibrant it almost doesn’t seem real. This beach has picnic tables and restroom facilities as it is also the beach for Travassa Hana hotel guests.

If you are making the drive to Hana from the other side of the island, this site is actually a bit past Hana, marking the end of the road unless you plan to drive the back side of the island on your return. I recommend a visit as the view from here is amazing and it is a very tranquil ...

Take a tour and taste the adventures of eating. They offer tours of their farms and tastings from some of the most unusual fruits and vegetables offered in the tropics. They also set up a stand in Hana town most of days and offer free tastings there too.

One of the most unusual views on Maui are from the Crater summit. Several small hikes we can tell you about plus the long into and through the Crater, ...

If you're looking for the hike that ventures through an incredible bamboo forest on Maui, you've found it! Inside Haleakala National Park, the Waimoku Falls Trail is a sweaty, bug-bitten but still phenomenal hike to a waterfall hidden in the rain forest. The best part is the trek through a thick bamboo forest, which sounds like xylophones being played when ...
