Hands down THE best po'boy I have had the pleasure of wolfing down during one of my visits to NOLA. You absolutely have to try the "Surf and Turf" po'boy which has big succulent fried shrimp plus roast beef covered in gravy made fresh in heaven.

A New Orleans tradition for the last two hundred years, Cafe Beignet serves the best chickory blend of Cafe Ole this side of the Mississippi. Their beignets, a golden, crispy pastry lightly dusted with confecctioners sugar, is the perfect way to start the day in the Big Easy.

    Mr B's Bistro

2.67 mi from Haunted History Tours
    14 reviews

At the New Orleans School of Cooking, Mr. B’s was recommended as the place to go for BBQ shrimp. So our group of six went there for lunch. I’ll eat one shrimp, but didn’t want an entire plate, so while my dining companions were sitting with the paper bibs tied around their necks, I had the trout amandine. The dish ...

They will deliver to your hotel - or to your home wherever (shipping is a little expensive, they need to be kept cool) , so best get some ...

If you've heard of one fancy cocktail spot in New Orleans, it's probably Cure. With bartenders dressed the part in speakeasy-era garb and an apothecary's worth of bitters in droppers and misters arrayed around the bar, this thriving Freret Street spot has set the bar (drinking pun!) pretty high. It's almost too much, but the cocktails are just that good.

Hands down the most satisfying gumbo served in New Orleans. The Seafood Gumbo a la Creole is hearty enough to split with a friend and is poured in your bowl table side and chock full of succulent jumbo shrimp and oysters the size of your palm. Sit at the bar if there's a wait for your table and try to ...

Cafe Amelie looks like a picturesque house with a beautiful courtyard that was converted into a mom and pop restaurant. I love the feel of the place, but most of all, I LOVE their shrimp and grits. They were definitely the best thing I ate in Louisiana. Our table loved it so much, we ordered an extra dish!

This is way out on the edge of the Garden District and getting there is half the fun. You can drive or take the streetcar from downtown(my recommendation), passing through the Garden District along the way. There aren't any tables just a long, meandering counter, it is worth the trip.

Bayona falls into the category of New Orleans contemporary fine dining. It's cultured, but a bit reserved for my taste (in terms of dishes and energy of the restaurant) compared to other dining options. It would be a great place for dinner with the in-laws.

People have asked me “What’s good at Dat Dog?,” and the answer is simple: Everything. As owner and self-proclaimed “The Hot Dog Guy” Skip Murray puts it, “If it wasn’t good, we wouldn’t do it.” And what makes Dat Dog so unique is their choice of unusual ingredients and flavors that blend so well together. They were born out of ...
